Searching Lorentz invariance violation from cosmic photon attenuation

Abstract Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) can change the threshold behavior predicted by special relativity and cause anomalies which affect propagation of cosmic photons. In this work, we focus on anomaly effect photon attenuations extragalactic background light (EBL) discuss how to identify LIV from observations very high energy (VHE) photons propagated long distance in universe. We point out that Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), one most sensitive gamma-ray detector arrays currently operating at TeV PeV energies, is an ideal facility for performing such searching. apply proposed strategy newly observed burst GRB 221009A demonstrate predictive ability our suggestions.
